That was the message staring back at Mrs Q from the dashboard of her Audi A1, and it was impossible to ignore.

The red SOS indicator on the roof console had lit up, indicating that one of the vehicle’s critical safety systems had partially shut down.

An emergency call fault isn’t the kind of warning you sit on and hope will go away.

What Does a B105413 Fault Code Indicate?

A B105413 fault code indicates that the telematics control module has registered an open circuit in the GPS antenna circuit. It’s this antenna that delivers the location data Audi’s emergency call system relies on to work out the vehicle’s position when an automatic emergency call is made.

Should a valid GPS signal fail to reach the system, the SOS function may be restricted to partial availability, and a dashboard warning message will be triggered.

This made it clear that the vehicle’s telematics control module had identified an open circuit in the GPS antenna signal path.

A fault code by itself, however, only highlights the affected area, not what caused it.
